New Client Experience

Thank you for choosing Spray Tan Tameside for your premium tanning experience.

This is where your journey begins.

Prepare for your first spray tan

If this is your first spray tan, prep is one of the most important parts of achieving a flawless, even result and helping your tan fade beautifully. The better your skin prep, the better your tan will develop and last. Around 24 hours before your appointment, exfoliate your skin thoroughly to remove any dry skin, old tan, deodorant build-up, or products sitting on the skin. Avoid oil-based scrubs or moisturisers, as oils can create a barrier and stop the tan developing evenly. On the day of your appointment, please arrive with no makeup, deodorant, perfume, moisturiser, or fake tan on the skin, and wear loose, dark clothing afterwards to avoid rubbing or marks while the tan develops. Please do not use Dove or any oily products, avoid Veet hair remover as the chemical residue will react with your tan.  Shaving or waxing should ideally be done at least 24 hours before your tan to allow pores to close, avoid razors with moisture strips.  Following your prep advice properly makes a huge difference to your final result and helps you achieve the most natural, streak-free glow possible. Please do  not apologise for your body, your age, your figure, this is a private, non-judgemental space for you! There is absolutely no age limit to tanning, my oldest client is 84! If you are under the age of 18 you will need parental or guardian consent, a patch test and a chaperone at your appointment.

Why aftercare is so important

Your aftercare is just as important as your prep, as it helps your spray tan develop evenly, last longer, and fade naturally. After your appointment, avoid getting wet, sweating, exercising, or applying any products to the skin until your first rinse, as water or moisture can affect the development of your tan. When it’s time to rinse, use lukewarm water only until the guide colour runs clear, and avoid soaps, scrubs, or shaving for your first shower unless advised otherwise. After rinsing, gently pat your skin dry instead of rubbing. To keep your tan looking fresh and even, moisturise daily with an oil-free moisturiser and avoid long hot baths, swimming pools, saunas, jacuzzi's, exfoliating products, or anything that strips the skin too quickly. When your tan begins to fade, exfoliating gently will help it come off evenly and prepare your skin for your next flawless glow. Allow two weeks in between tanning to allow time for the tan to fade completely.
