Beyond the ordinary
This is where your Bridal Tan journey begins. All the advice you need to plan for a perfect glow on your big day and when to book your trial and bridal tan is right here.
Bridal Timeline
Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming - your tan shouldn't be. I've put together a bridal timeline to guide you through exactly when to book your appointments, so your glow is perfect, stress-free, and one less thing to worry about.
Your perfect glow, perfectly timed.
What you need to know about how your skin changes through the seasons and the lead up to your wedding
Your skin isn't the same all year round - and that's exactly why your tan shouldn't be either.
Changes in the weather, temperature, all affect your skin's hydration levels, oil production and ph balance. These shifts can impact how your spray tan develops, how long it lasts, an how evenly it fades.
So let's talk about how your skin behaves in the lead-up to your big day!
Stress levels, hormones, and even your skincare routine can affect your tan. That's why bridal tanning is never a one-size-fits-all service. The goal is a flawless undetectable glow.
Prep and PH-balancing treatments are included as part of my Bridal package, ensuring your tan develops evenly and photographs beautifully. No patchiness, no harsh lines, and no unexpected tones. Trial tans are recommended at least 8 weeks before your Bridal tan to test shades and leave time for more than 1 if required. You can time these to coincide perfectly with your hen-do, dress fitting and makeup trial.
This is not the time to start new skincare routines or products. Exfoliating too harshly and having facials all disrupt your skins PH balance and may cause breakouts or allergic reactions.
I will guide you on spray tan friendly products to use and advise on what you can use to maintain your tan perfectly through your wedding day and beyond.
Skin changes through the seasons
We offer a range of specialized services tailored to meet your individual needs. Our approach is focused on understanding and responding to what you require, providing effective and practical solutions.
Winter
Winter brings central heating and drier skin. Stay hydrated. Skin conditions like dermatitis, chapped skin and eczema flare ups are common. Seek advice from your physician and makeup artist on how to avoid and treat skin problems. Your tan may fade quicker or unevenly without proper prep.
Spring
Spring brings with it tree pollen which can trigger eczema in people sensitized to it and UV levels start to rise that can bring on skin conditions. You know your own skin and seek advice from your makeup artist regarding skincare prep that is not oily as this affect your spray tan.
Summer
Increased humidity and sun intensity, more at risk of dehydration and sunburn. Hydration is key here and protecting yourself from the sun for summer weddings. Be aware of tan lines from strappy tops and wedding gowns that are off the shoulder. Cover up for a few weeks before the wedding. Sunburn cannot be spray tanned over. Sunscreen is essential and appropriate skincare to prevent breakouts from sweating. Summer brings on more oil production and enlarged pores, adjusting skincare can help this, e.g. using more lightweight moisturisers, consult with your makeup artist. Do not use Dove or any dry oil or hair remover such as Veet as these leave a residue on your skin. Please also avoid aluminium deodorants on the days of your tan
Autumn
Cooler and drier air takes it toll on the moisture in our skin. Dry areas like knees, hands, elbows and feet require regular spray tan-friendly moisturiser to keep them supple and prevent those areas developing darker. Extra hydration is essential. I can advise which products are spray tan-friendly. Seek advice also from your makeup artist.
